Crawlspace encapsulation is a generic term that is used to describe a crawlspace that is protected by moisture. This term is used frequently by different basement waterproofing companies. The purpose of crawlspace encapsulation is to create an environment that can be controlled.
Types Of Crawl Space Encapsulation
Not all crawlspace encapsulation methods are created equal. There are some cheap and nonpermanent solutions for crawl space encapsulation like a plastic tarp and tape or concrete. Would you use a tarp and tape to seal your leaky roof permanently? Concrete may be great for your driveway, however, it will crack and let in moisture to your crawlspace. Think of your crawlspace the same. If the goal is a dry conditioned space concrete and plastic tarps are not the solution.
The Nu-Crawl Space System
The Nu-Crawl polyurea sprayed onto woven geotextile has the strength needed to protect your crawlspace and is nearly puncture proof. No crawlspace is the same so our Nu-Crawl liners are custom made to fit the dimensions of the crawlspace floor. The Nu-Crawl liner is a sprayed polymer and is designed to bond immediately and permanently to nearly any substrate. THis means we can attach our liners to stay completely and truly sealed. Nu-Crawl liners can cover vertical or steeply sloping ground, and will not pull down or be affected by gravity. Nu-Crawl is suitable for storage and meets residential building code for fire safety and vapor transmission.
Nu-Crawl RFX
The Nu-Crawl RFX (reflective Insulation) insulates as well as moisture proofs walls. Our RFX material is greatly enhanced as sprayed Nu-Crawl polymers are used to seal and seam the RFX insulation as it is installed. Effective R-value increases by controlling the moisture behind the RFX. The insulated liner allows the air to be conditioned and reduce the humidity level, which is the cornerstone of crawlspace encapsulation.
