In a crawl space encapsulation project in Chicago, our Polyshield HT™ 100F was extremely effective in creating a line of defense against the unknown hazards that an unsealed crawl space has to offer. The completion date was April of 2016 on a 4,000 square-foot section of a commercial building in Chicago’s South Loop District.

What Was the Problem?

The owner of the property was looking for a permanent way to stop moisture from continuously entering their crawl space. The large space was divided into two separate crawl spaces that were each 130 feet long. An interior stone foundation separated the spaces, and the ground was made of layers of broken concrete and dust. This posed a problem if the owner chose a more conventional, outdated system for crawl space encapsulation in Chicago such as plastic sheets and taped seams.

The Solution

Enter: Nu-Crawl’s Polyshield HT™ 100F. This was placed over woven geotextile to form a nearly invincible seamless liner. It also has a unique ability to be sprayed to itself and re-join at a molecular level. Our professionals sprayed it on-site to permanently bond it to all footings, foundations, pipes and other penetrations. The set time was less than two minutes, allowing our crew to move about wherever necessary. Know that our liners are safe for being inside because they are 100% solids and contain no VOCs or solvents.
